Gabions and Reno Mattresses
Gabion Baskets are rock filled wire boxes that provide stabilization and structure for many construction applications. Most gabions are filled on site with rocks, sand, or concrete aggregate mix. The boxes are then stacked, interlocked, and tied back to form a structure that will prevent natural erosion from occurring.
Galvanized Gabion Baskets
Benefits
Applications
Our Gabion Baskets are manufactured from double twisted hexagonal wire mesh. The high quality galvanized steel wire mesh meets ASTM A975. The wire mesh creates a box-like structure with internal cells. Connect multiple containers together to create a flexible monolithic structure.
Gabion Baskets are shipped flat and assembled on site. Fasten together multiple gabions together with Lacing Wire and/or Hog Rings. You can choose from either Galvanized Hog Rings or Stainless Steel Hog Rings. Once you have assembled your Gabion Baskets, fill them with rock, sand, stone or concrete per site specifications. If you need on-site installation assistance, inquire with our sales team.

PoliMac™ Coated Gabion Baskets
Benefits*
Applications
PolicMac coated Gabion Baskets are manufactured from double twisted hexagonal wire mesh and coated with a high abrasion resistant polymer coating. The wire mesh used to manufacture PolicMac Gabion Baskets meets ASTM A975 style 3 coating.
The polymer coating adds an extra layer of protection against aggressive environments where additional protection against corrosion is required. This includes salt water environments, heavily acidic soils and sites that need longer service life.

Reno Mattress
Benefits
Applications
A Reno Mattress is very similar to a gabion basket. Both structures are made of double twisted wire mesh that creates cage-like containers. Just like gabions, the Reno Mattress is filled with rock and stone on site.
The key difference between a Reno Mattress and a gabion basket is the product’s size. The Mattress is rectangular and has a maximum height of 12-inches. The size and shape make it ideal for channel lining and river bank protection.
Reno Mattresses are divided into diaphragm cells that are typically 3-feet wide by 9-feet long. Mattresses are connected with Lacing Wire and/or Hog Rings which can be galvanized or stainless steel.
Gabion Mattresses can be PoliMac™ coated for additional protection against corrosive elements like salt water and acidic soils.
