About the Project

The Legend Park Remediation Project is a pre-regulatory landfill closure in Clayton, North Carolina. The site was used for waste disposal during the 1960s and 1970s, before modern waste management regulations were in place.

North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) is remediating pre-regulatory landfills such as Legend Park and Franklinton Landfill ensure these disposal sites meed today’s environmental standards.
