GEOBLOCK5150 Supports Grass Emergency Access Lane

GEOBLOCK5150® Vegetated Porous Pavement System

The GEOBLOCK5150 grass paver system was specified for the vegetated emergency access lane at the District 54 Apartment Complex in Raleigh, North Carolina.

GEOBLOCK5150 is a 2-inch deep grass paver panel that connects to other panels with a tabular system. Multiple panels connect together to create a stabilized system that is filled with topsoil and seeded. In this application, the panels were laid in a bricklayer pattern but GEOBLOCK5150 can also be installed in a herringbone pattern.

The resulting grass fire lane can fully support an emergency access vehicle while improving stormwater infiltration and generally upgrading aesthetics of the high-end apartment complex.

HS25 Load Rating

The 2-inch deep panels connect with interlocking tabs to construct a rigid surface that supports up to 80,000 pounds.

Installation Advantages

The lightweight panels are easy to connect and require less base than competing products, resulting in reduce labor and installation costs.

Stormwater Infiltration

GEOBLOCK’s open cell and flat panel system has a 5-10x faster percolation rate and improved water storage capacity compared to rolled paver products.
